Spirius is expanding its range of services with a new Batch SMS API that enables the sending of large volumes of SMS messages in a single request. The solution is tailored for campaign distributions and other mass communication needs.

The new API supports sending up to 1 million SMS per request and offers several advantages over individual message sending. By simplifying integration and automating key functions, the entire dispatch process becomes more efficient.

– The new API offers features such as automatic flow control, intelligent error handling with retry attempts, and scheduling of messages, says János Tóth-Égetö, CTO at Spirius.

Additional new features include support for message templates with dynamic attributes, making it easy to send personalized mass messages – for example, with greetings like “Hi {name}.” The Batch API is asynchronous and offers two options for tracking the status of a batch: either by polling regularly for updates or via push notifications (callbacks) when the status changes. To increase security, OAuth2 is used as the authentication protocol.

– To access the service, a new account with Spirius is required. Contact us to activate the API; up to 100 000 SMS messages per request are included as a service for all existing SMS Gateway customers at no extra charge. If you want up to 1 million SMS messages, you can purchase the Batch SMS XL service, says János Tóth-Égetö.

– This is a significant improvement for large SMS sendings. Instead of sending SMS messages one by one, which might keep a process running for hours while constantly monitoring the sending speed, with Batch SMS you can produce a request with the entire SMS sending and then post it to Spirius, which is an incredibly large improvement, says Jonas Rexeke, CEO of Spirius.
