LTE-M for smarter IoT solutions

LTE-M is a radio technology standard that uses existing 4G/LTE networks to enable a large number of IoT devices and services. Spirius now offers this on existing smart IoT SIM cards.

LTE-M supports features that drastically reduce the IoT devices’ energy consumption, which can result in a battery life lasting more than 10 years.

– It is practical, for example for units on containers. If the terminal supports it, it is also possible to temporarily turn up the speed for, for example, a firmware update, says Jonas Rexeke, CEO of Spirius.

LTM-E is supported by all significant mobile equipment and also works with 2G and 3G networks. The standard benefits from all security and privacy features of mobile networks, such as support for user identity privacy, device authentication, data integrity and mobile device identification.
Spirius offers the LTE-M standard LTE Cat M1 with fallback 2G and with the battery saving functions eDRX and PSM. Roaming to the Nordic countries also works.
